Things to know

what is typically covered under my homeowners insurance policy?

Things to know

  • INSPECTION ORDERED
  •  An Automatic Exterior Inspection will be conducted after the purchase of your new homeowner's insurance policy. Inspections could take place the very next day and no later than 60 days thereafter. The insurance company will be looking for safety hazards and maintenance issues that increase the odds of a claim, for example:

  • Peeling Paint
  • Crumbling Stairs
  • Missing handrails
  • Missing Shingles
  • Curling Shingles
  • Trees Touching or Overhanging buildings
  • Clutter

  • POTENTIOAL CACELLATION
  • After a homeowners insurance policy has two or more claims with in a 3-to-5-year time period the homeowner's policy may then be considered high risk. The homeowner's insurance policy may then need to be switched to a high-risk carrier. The premiums could triple depending on the severity of the claims. In some cases, the insurance company may offer higher deductibles or exclude certain coverages to mitigate certain types of claims.
